Provides Expert Witness services to lawyers in connection with aviation accidents, including research and analysis in accident reconstruction. Specialist in helicopter operations, thermal imaging (FLIR) technology, including NVG operations and helicopter tactics.


2006 - 2008

Accident Investigator and Court Expert in NVG operations.

Consultant for FLIR systems, Inc. on 8000 series thermal imager.

San Diego Police Department, California, USA

     (1992 - 2014)

Pilot and Tactical Flight Officer, Air Support Unit 

Helicopter training officer and NVG check-airman for the Air Support Unit. Created the San Diego Police Department’s helicopter pilot training course, including tasks, objective performance standards and performance evaluations. Created the unit’s thermal imaging training course, Bambi Bucket (fire-fighting) training course, canine helicopter transportation course and the unit’s NVG initial pilot training course.

Provided testimony in Superior Court, Federal Court and Civil Court regarding thermal imaging operations.

Authored a POST Advanced Thermal Imaging course, authored and instructed a Nevada POST approved Thermal Imaging and Tactics course and a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards approved Thermal Imaging training course.

Helicopter Crewman - Anti Submarine Warfare (AW) and Search and Rescue (SAR) with Helicopter Squadron HSL-35.

Conducted anti-submarine warfare and associated duties on Kaman SH-2F. Also Search and Rescue Wet Crewman, Hoist Operator and LN-66 HP Radar Operator.
