One of the most experienced Hawk T1/T2 aircraft ‘time on type’, military engineer officers. Delegated Letter of Airworthiness Authority (LoAA) holder and leading Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Hawk engineering issues, including modifications, configuration control, fault diagnosis, root-cause analysis, safety occurrences, technical reports, technical instructions. Additionally, project managed circa £30 million of defence projects. Supported the Department of Trade and Industry in UK sales initiatives abroad, for all aspects of technical and logistical support, regulatory compliance and procedural matters.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows, RAF Scampton

Responsible for the engineering and maintenance of all Red Arrows Hawk T1 aircraft and for the command, leadership, management, safety and welfare of 100 engineering and logistics personnel. Flight Test Engineer with considerable flying experience.

Senior Engineer through two separate fatal aircraft accidents and lead point of contact for subsequent advice and support to the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) and Military Air Accident Investigation Branch (MilAAIB) in their completion of Service Inquiries and associated investigations. Lead for implementation of recovery actions and MilAAIB recommendations. Provided written and verbal technical advice to legal teams both ahead of and during Coroner’s Inquests.
